Digital Services Act information
DRAFT, needs legal review. Not yet in force.
FriendsCorp (the "provider") runs Diddo, an online platform that lets people post in their area. This page contains the information that the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065) asks us to publish.
Contact points
- Authorities (Article 11):
dsa@<domain>(TODO: set when the domain is final). Write in Swedish or English. - Users (Article 12):
support@<domain>(TODO), or use the report and appeal tools in the app. You do not need an account to contact us by email. - Legal representative: FriendsCorp is established in the EU, so no separate representative is needed. Registered address: TODO (company registration number and address).
Reporting illegal or harmful content
Every post, reply, review, profile and photo or video has a report option in the app (you need an account to use it). You choose a reason from a fixed list (for example illegal content, harassment, spam, impersonation, misleading place information), and can add a note. You do not have to be the person affected. You can also send a notice of illegal content by email to dsa@<domain> with the address of the content (its link), why you think it is illegal, and your name and email. We tell you when a report is decided.
Reports that mention possible illegal content are put first in the queue. We review each report by hand. No automated system removes content on its own, apart from hash matching of uploaded media against lists of known child sexual abuse material, which blocks publication of a match and is described in the privacy policy.
Our decisions and the statement of reasons
When we remove content, warn you, suspend you for a period or ban you, we send you a statement of reasons in the app, immediately. It says what we did, which part of the content or account it concerned, the rule or law relied on, the facts we relied on, whether automated means were used, and how to appeal. We keep a permanent record of each decision.
Appeals
You can appeal any such decision once, within 180 days, from the notice in the app (Settings, Notices about your account). A different moderator reviews it. If the appeal succeeds we reverse exactly that action and record the reversal. You will get a reasoned answer. You may also use an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under Article 21 DSA, or go to court. (TODO: name a certified body once the choice is made.)
How we moderate
Moderators work from a queue of reports, one at a time, with the thread for context. Moderator accounts need two-factor sign-in, and every action is written to a log that nobody, including us, can edit afterwards. We do not rank or hide posts with a recommendation system: Nearby and Following are ordered by time and, for Nearby, distance.
Repeat misuse
We may suspend or ban accounts that repeatedly post clearly illegal or rule-breaking content, or that repeatedly file clearly unfounded reports, after a warning.
Transparency
We will publish a transparency report at least once a year with the number of reports and orders received, the actions taken by reason, the appeals and their outcomes, and the use of automated means. (TODO: the first report is due after the first full year of operation; link it here.)
Terms
Our terms of service are at /legal/terms. They set out the rules content has to follow and what the restrictions on use are.
